I like the idea of a Lebanese feast but I’ve eaten at Nuba a few times now and the food is pretty enough but seems under spiced and bland.

I like Najib’s cauliflower. But yeah – most of the food there is bland.
One thing I really don’t like is the stale grocery store pita that they often use.
I too go to Nuba only for the Najib’s cauliflower and a garden pita, and only at the Seymour outpost. I’ve had bland and burnt food at the Hastings one. Never been to the Waldorf or the 3rd Ave locations.
I think a lot of people here like Nuba because their food has a high “salad ratio”. Even their wraps are pretty salad-y.
Agree with both of ya. The Najib’s Special cauliflower and the garden pita (with hot sauce) are both tasty but the dry/stale pitas take the enjoyment down a good couple of notches.
Even though I quite enjoy grilled meats in general, I’ve never had one at Nuba that I’ve found myself craving more of later.
When he had just the one small place on Hastings (now La Taquiera, formerly Deserts) it was really good. After the move to the old Mouse & Bean location in the Dominion Bldg, I found the casual stuff seemed to go downhill.
The Seymour location has been good when I’ve been there. 3rd ave not so much. I’ve never been to the Waldorf one.
If I am hit with a falafel craving, I’m more likely to head to Deserts on the Drive than to any of the Nubas.
