The Spicy Roll at Le Do

Le Do is one of my “go to” restaurants when I am hankering for a restorative bowl of pho. It’s a solid Vietnamese noodle joint that has many of the noodlehouse classics well covered. The one dish that I always order there to accompany my bowl is their innovative Spicy Roll. It is, in essence, a fried spring roll wrapped in a salad roll. You get the savouriness of a spring roll and the freshness of a salad roll all in one. Despite the name, it really isn’t that spicy. It comes with a requisite nuoc cham for dipping.

The Spicy Roll is always made fresh to order ensuring that the spring roll stays crunchy. This dish is such a simple concept that I wonder why more places in town don’t serve it. It is a perfect accompaniment for Le Do’s famously solid pho.

Because the description does not necessarily make it enticing enough! So, what is in this roll? OK, I will let fmed explain it to your here. [...]
